If nothing else, this book can serve a good book to discover other books to read. I anticipate my TBR list growing as a result of reading about books and authors mentioned in this book

Looking forward more to the Renaissance and after humanist thinkers. The ancient (especially the Golden Rule being a thing across the globe) and medieval were enjoyable to read at least. Bakewell is nice, easy, relaxing reading with an underlying sense of optimism and well - humanity.
