MY HEART CAN’T TAKE THIS! First all the love for Javier and now Bowe said he loved Carrie right after finishing that game, a game Carrie said her father would have been cheering the loudest for and been so proud? UGH😩 It was the first damn thing he said to her after the match was over!!!! I CAN’T!!!

Damn. Even the people on her side don’t think she can win, in the media and in her personal life. I, for one, am not sure if I want her to win. As the #1 hater of adult sports personalities, part of me wants her to lose, so the balloon that is her head can pop and she can come back down to planet Earth. But at the same time, it is a testament to her determination, especially with everyone telling her she can’t.

Okay, I’ve finished the background part and I think this is a good stopping point for the night. Also… from now on, she’s a grown ass woman. Time to be humbled. I’m sorry (not). That being said, I do feel for her and that is entirely due to TJR. Never thought I’d be enjoying a book about a tennis star but here we are!

Okay… I’m starting to see it now, but honestly, I stand by what I said. Her father had a big part in why she is the way she is. That’s not to take responsibility away from Carrie, but I feel like if her mom hadn’t died, she’s be a lot more well-rounded as an individual. Then again, would she still be the best? Who knows.

Listen… this girl is not getting a childhood. I’ve heard a lot of people review this and call her insufferable, but goodness gracious look how she grew up. I know I’m only 40 pages in, but I’d cut her a little slack.
