The Sword is here. Gravity pulls at the iron sands, dragging them from one end of the hour glass to the other. Can Wax summon the strength for one last steelpush, to keep those metal sands from consuming all he’s come to love? Can Marasi fulfill the will of The Survivor, and slow another hourglass entirely? It all reminds Wayne of his mother’s last story. Can he make peace with himself and fulfill his role in it?

I think we’re back now, heating up in a big way! Although, it seems that Brandon Sanderson may be playing too heavily at his own universe, The Cosmere. I like a good shared universe, but I need the story I’m reading to feel the most important. We now know the implications of this story on the universe as a whole. So now Sanderson should stow it. He risks undermining the stakes of this story by setting up others.

Slower start to this book, and wow what a long time jump. I’m getting my usual Sanderson doubt. “Where’s he going with this?” I ask myself. That last book is going to be hard to follow, he’s got his hands full this time. Only time will tell.
