This is my 3rd time trying to read this book, I could never get more than 20 pages in but I’m pushing through now.

The creeping dread and ambiance the author creates is amazing and artfully leans into the southern gothic genre. It’s difficult to read if you aren’t 100% zoned into the words, because the descriptions of the settings require full attention, but once you’re in the story, you’re in the story.
