i only knew about argos for like two seconds and i’m so sad now

odysseus annoys me with how egotistical he is. his stories are fun but he’s completely obsessed with his image— his whole journey he’s just waiting to get home so everyone can praise him and idolize him and the gifts he’s convinced people he needed (or flat out stole). i don’t think he even cares about his wife and kid, just his ego.

calypso is so iconic, a bit crazy, but idc

shhh —— i kinda forgot i was reading this / had started to read this (it’s been two years since i picked this up, i had to do a reread bc i completely forgot everything (!) and i didn’t even read that much previously anyway) here we go

this translation is actually the best i've come across... meaning that it's the only one i can actually understand what's even happening, thank you emily wilson !!
