Picked this up at the thrift store - 7 pages in and realizing that it’s a Canadian author and the story takes place in NFLD. I live in New Brunswick, so this will be a pretty cool read!

My heart is breaking. This is a tough read. I am a mother of a little girl, so this story just shatters my heart in so many ways. I have to set the book down for the night as I’m feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Insanely amazing, thought provoking, emotional read so far. I hope for justice for all victims of trafficking. In the book, and in the real world. My heart hurts.

That probably adds an extra layer of authenticity to the story.
