I finished the story (just the thanks and history sections left) and it’s really good

Highlight: Bolívar is a huge dog person, everything about the Caribbean that is clearly referenced to Gabo’s life, saying “In Caribbean” like it’s a different language, the swearing, Iturbide
Lowlights: what happened with the dogs, Sáenz being an enslaver (her character was so cool otherwise), I read ahead accidentally to the shaving incident

Ok Gabo lives up to the hype! Highlights: José Palacios, all the women, Bolívar’s fake Spain accent, him coming up with more ideas after an argument and getting mad he didn’t say them (real), Wilson
Lowlights: occasional racism but it’s accurate to the 1820’s
