Horridly ironic that immediately as I write that lament, something genuinely interesting starts to happen within the next two pages

This book is sucking the soul out of me; Why is there 30 page stretches where all they talk about is investing and stocks, how did the fun prison escapade end within 200 pages, why does the main character show up once in a blue moon. Dragging myself kicking and screaming through the last 300 pages with the hope that Dantes/the Count will actually lock in and do his whole revenge thing for real
