The thing about the human brain is a person can be smart, They can know what’s happening around them, and still on a subconscious level—vanity, desire, a little dent in their personality—They want to be fooled.

So very interesting. The main character is biracial just like me except her mother is black and her father is white. She identifies as black. She says “ maybe what they couldn’t know was that the blackest thing about me was how I was fully, completely me, despite them trying to tell me what to do and who to be.”
