A narrator starts working at a company and becomes curious about his coworker Raif Efendi. Raif is disrespected by others and reserved. "He was a quiet, withdrawn man whom nobody seemed to take seriously" When Raif becomes sick, he gives the narrator a notebook from his youth to burn but the narrator decides to read it instead. This book is very good so far. I think we will find out more about why Raif is so sad now.
