You've no idea how GOOD it is to find a humorous & adorable fantasy w/ historical vibes after a terrible book.
And w/a sense of humour compatible w/your own? Heavenly!
Reminds me of why Kate Stradling was an auto-buy author for me (she did have 1 .big flop in my eyes, but she's now forgiven)

Oh, good news, I liked very much one of her books, but did not hit it off with others. This seems tempting!

Yes, i would much rather something be clearly and sensibly foreshadowed than an author throw up a million unneeded red herrings to try and have a SHOCKING TWIST. not every book needs one! I promise.
