Got a moment? Seize the day. But watch your language!
Historic fiction's having a moment, but I'm jerked out of the moment if a character uses a modern idiomatic expression.
Just now, a character set in 1890s said, "Mauve is having a moment;" a phrase so anachronistic the narrative immediately lost my attention.
"Having a moment," to mean in style, currently fashionable, dates only to the 1990s. 100 years off.
