Holy Crap!
Store sign boasted, “Aryan Book Store, Truth Brings Liberation, Silver Shirt Literature.”
A newsboy sold a paper called The Silver Ranger outside while supposedly shouting, “Free Speech Stopped by Jew Riot.”
Inside the store, Hitler’s speeches played on a phonograph. I don’t speak German but even to my ears Hitler’s speeches aren’t flowery or philosophical. Reading this has me freaking out!

Portland, Oregon’s renown Powell’s Books sold for a limited time, during the Covid shutdown, a unisex perfum that purported to smell of books. It’s called “Powell’s by Powell’s” for $24.99. Haha! It comes in a red box shaped like a book and boasts to smell of: wood, violet and biblicore; invoking a labyrinth of books, secret librarys of books, ancient scrolls..” I wish I had smelled it!
