(cont) you see the problem now. All this goes to say that while I meant to go chronologically at first, I’m now skipping in between books depending on what I want to read at any given moment, yet without forgetting my original goal in trying to understand the placement of each book, how they relate, etc etc. Gonna say nothing about the actual books themselves for now, as I am in no position to rate the Bible!

(cont.) But in some of the earlier books I had gotten lost with all the names, etc. and so am not really reading this book with the context I should have. Realized that a little bit ago, so went straight back to Genesis and kind of started over. LOL. I only did this because I rarely have time to lay down and read for hours nowadays, so sometimes I listen to some sections over audio, and sometimes zone out…

I like this translation because it’s simpler, and lets me take in overarching concepts rather than focus on the archaic ways of speaking in other translations. Like, I read some books in the KJV and had to go very, very slowly. And it was my first time legitimately reading them, so even more so. Regardless of translation though, I am having a good time working through the Bible. I am technically in 2 Samuel rn.
