The last week or so of a rib injury is tricky. You feel great, but it’s the easiest time to re-injure when you do more than you should.

We have a gate with a keypad lock, and we don’t take kindly to strangers showing up.

It’s a move I’ve done with Sage when she was beaten, bruised, and scared. Instantly, I do the same. Get down on her level instead of towering over her. Try to calm her.
