Patty is a bit irritating at times, but it resonates with me many of her frustrations—the sense of being behind/not belonging, hopelessly romantic yet single, etc. her jealousy of Elaine is also very sharp. Patty toes that line of tsun and childish, but simultaneously aware.

There really is a surprising depth captured in simplicity of it. The prose is also quite beautiful and elegant in a warm, domestic way.
