Dementia is a thief. It slowly steals memories, independence, and connection. I’ve watched multiple family members go through it and in many ways they were gone long before their bodies were.

I cried reading this. Not because it was manipulative, but because it felt painfully true. It acknowledges the pain of dementia with quiet grace not just for the person suffering from it, but for everyone who loves them.
