I’ve got a real soft spot for American towns that go mostly untouched. The first time I managed to put that feeling into words was during my last year of undergrad, shortly after returning from the U.K. This piece feels like a twisted love letter to places like that, not unlike something I’m working on now. Larry McMurtry always seems to show up at pivotal moments for me that way.
