Have to adjust my expectations of the book. I had hoped it would tell stories of the protesters & lay out their strategies, so we could adapt them in the future. Instead, it truly focuses on history. "Teaching the history of this nation is protest, because young people should not become blind carriers of American's myth of immaculate conception." (49) At first, it mainly tells about oppression, too, not protest.
