Ok, the Vulkan 1st person perspective parts are straight ass. It's usually the idiotic plot dragging down the good writing in Warhammer novels, but here we have horrible dialogue dragging down a pretty decent plot. Ew.

Surprisingly potent horror. Still not well written, but surprisingly fun to listen to.

Honestly not that bad. There's one good Word Bearers character (though a bit too much of a "good guy behind enemy lines" to be super interesting), and there's one good Salamanders character. Solid stuff so far, AND the pacing is good.

I get why people dislike Nick Kyme. The writing is kinda mid. The Salamanders are mediocre (the single notable Iron Hands legionary is more interesting than them, which I cannot even begin to parse right now), but the Word Bearers are pretty good villains. I like John Grammaticus too, so far. The pacing is also really good, takes away some of the bad points for sure.

Pretty mid writing so far. Good pacing though.
