This is a fascinating book. It's some 700+ pages so takes a while.
I'm in the midst of the Dark Ages, pre vaccines. The negative impacts of pandemics was monumental. To read the current fight about vaccine policy in the US is head-shaking. I know scientific research has issues, but conjecture and opinions are much worse.
