So far it’s living up to its reviews! The pace of story development is just right and it’s so raw and delicate and sweet.

The story is progressing way faster than I expected! I’m relieved the war years were kind of skimmed through, it was just enough info and still very gentle and considerate

It’s so damn beatiful how Patroclus describes Achilles after his first kills. How he forces himself to listen to his monstrosity just so it relieves his soul a little, and how he tries to disassociate from it at the same time. So touching!🥹

I start to get a little tired of the story as they progress to war. I guess it’s because they were so carefree as young boys and now they lost this frivolity.

It’s an enchanting story so far! 🥺 I love Achilles’ indifference towards being potentially clocked as a man in woman’s disguise, how it doesn’t bring him any feeling of shame!! It’s both moving and refreshing

I have an arbitrary rule of reading 40 pages before I decide if I want to finish a book. This time around, I was pulled in right from the first page. I love the gentleness and raw vulnerability with which this story is written. It makes me almost believe that the mythical world was real.
