Uh oh... this is really bad.

I have to admit, I am entertained. And before learning some archery from Qian, MJ has a confident to help her out. (Not saying who it is here though.) And what could Amador be hiding?

Oh, there is all sorts of tension here and I am loving it. Looks like MJ has finally realized what's wrong with her and is taking precautionary measures, but I still feel like this element should have remained a secret until the reader got to the book itself. Side note, where is Mount Makiling? I don't see it anywhere on the map...

Well... a lot has just happened in a short amount of time. We're already introduced to Qian, who is not only a prince of Jade Mountain, he's the Crown Prince and part-human. The humor is on point though, and MJ just wants to feel like a normal human kid again, even if it means binge-eating cheertos. And what is Lucas doing?

I have to admit, despite my initial reluctance to start reading this book, this cover looks gorgeous! Both front and back! Seems that our new queen is having some difficulties with her power. But the events in this chapter make it seem like Lukas was playing MJ all along. I really hope that's not the case. Because MJ probably doesn't want to attend that wedding...
