This is insane. How did I not remember this. He showed up - uninvited - was vouched for by royalty, is somehow instant friends w royalty, somehow magically saves the best guy in the kingdom, is adopted by the king, and is insta loved by the pretty princess. Like cannot make this shit up this was one day.

This book is def trying to be progressive w a gay POV and I suppose it is in that sense for it being written in like 2011 but making him this comically evil isn’t a great way to do that
