This might be my favourite essay and one i'd highly recommend so far. The author reflects on the political climate of early 2000s Kenya, unpacking issues that feel strikingly unresolved even today. Decades later, the same patterns persist—political “handshakes” between leaders, rising taxes, minimal visible development, and recurring public unrest.
