This book was incredibly hard to read knowing that these horrific things happened. They are a part of our past. I pray that we as humans have learned from this and that it will never happen again.

I loved the story of Lale and Gita. I was rooting for them through the entire book. I loved seeing friendships happening in unlikely places. My heart broke as friends were taken away and killed.
