Starting out, I found the story charming, if not expertly crafted. There's quite a bit of telling instead of showing, and most of the tension is immediately undercut by over explaining. At the same time, I do find myself happy to pull the book out over and over and chug through it despite everything. I also unfortunately find the romance rather cringe at times. I can't figure out who the target audience for this is.

I have so many thoughts about this book, but I feel like it wouldn't be fair of me to say them all online because I got an ARC and my review could mess with the rating before the book's release, so if I just write it all here, no one but me will see it.
Well I picked up this book as an ARC from my job and thought immediately how beautiful the cover is, and that it looks like Charlie Bowater's style (and was correct)
