Finished book one! May I just say that if you want arson, creepy twins who only wear purple, MULTIPLE death duels, extremely long-winded yet beautifully descriptive writing, gothic vibes, and a castle that feels like an ancient and slightly evil anthill of odd Dickensian creatures, read this.

So far in book two we've had two attempted murders (maybe three, not sure how to count them), four deaths (varied causes), love at first sight, a weird poetry reading ceremony where all the walls had to be painted dark red, cavernous secret passages being explored, and a generous helping of hinted nefarious planning. So I guess you could say it's getting pretty serious lol
