Trying to make a baby a hardened soldier by instilling in them the sense that they shouldn't cry in regular situations where a baby would cry, shouldn't feel hungry when their bellies are empty, shouldn't yell out when their arm is severed in battle.

I am fond of the fact that Nitobe speaks on how rectitude can be perverted to your own sense of duty and "Right Reason". Just because you believe you are Just and Right, does not mean you are.

Hmm I should make a dnd character that's all about rectitude. If anything were to happen to them, where they lose that aspect of themself, would be interesting to see. Not novel, but still interesting nevertheless.
