In space, the four astronauts/cosmonauts watch the unfolding disaster.

I love how each chapter closes out with a paragraph or two from the comet's perspective, ratcheting up the feeling of impending doom as the comet's orbit gets closer and closer to Earth each time "the black giant" crosses its path.
