The prose is absolutely mesmerizing. Even when the content or scene itself seems mostly vapid and uninteresting, the writing has a way of drawing you in through with a mellifluous flow. I'm on the edge of my seat for the most dull, sad moments. It's also very funny at times, perhaps unintentionally but still!! + I feel so maternal over baby Grenouille.. 💔
