The gruesome details are almost enough to make me stop reading, but I’ve heard it gets better after the initial third… going to at least get to 33% and see what I think.

I’m hoping this almost-1200 page tome is worth risking my annual reading challenge goal. 😅 Maybe I’ll get sucked into it and read it quickly. This has been an interesting one to start reading right when I was at the tail end of having the flu 😬 Rich characterization so far! I love when I start reading books in a different accent in my head!
