Maybe for the era it was written (70’s) this was scary but to me it was just kind of lame. (I might be a bit hard to scare though). The movie was better. And I truly disliked the updated version of this book.

That’s exactly what they’ve done. They’ve updated it. It’s when I found reference to photoshop that I was sure. Found an older copy with the original Vietnam, pay phone booth and a thunderbird not a Lexus thankfully.

Hang on a minute - he had been in Vietnam then he’d been in Iraq? Wrong decade. Then one of the guys appears to have used a mobile phone to call 911? In 1973?? Did they try to update the book so it was relevant?
