This book is worth reading cos it shows the conviction in an idea can lead to.
AI seems inevitable but maybe not, except for the belief of a few researchers who kept working for close to 20 years while waiting for data, compute and algorithms to catch up.
Funny how the man who was central to this story, Geoff Hinton, persisted with Neural networks carried the modern foundation of AI on his broken back, literally.
