I’m not sure if I am illiterate or what but this is just not gripping me. But I want to finish it so I can get my algorithm right.

Maybe I’m just not built for memoirs like this but I’m having trouble connecting with the author’s story. It feels like he is telling the stories of others more than himself which makes sense as he is a reporter, but I’m not sure I enjoy reading his article style of writing.

Good to see that we agree that thievery is morally okay in concentration camps

Stuff finally happened! Now that I am entering Part 2 I think that I’m going to see where this book is going to shine.

Starting to lose some steam. I feel like the author is going in circles describing the same actions and feelings. It is well written no doubt, but I feel it dwells on topics for too long.

I’m starting to see why this book was so highly recommended. I can feel everything that I felt when I visited Aushwitz, it’s surreal.

So far seems very similar to “Night” but I’ve been told that this exceeds it. I’m excited to see what’s to come but nothing has stood out to me yet.
