Got in a reading slump and now we're backk💪💪 ps this book is so insightful I love it

So far it's good but one thing caught my attention which is( as you know the story is true) how does the author know what happened in his professor's life in detail before he even reunited with him? Like how does he know the conversation he had with Koppel behind closed doors? Does his professor mention everything to him later on throughout the book or what? I'm genuinely confused😭
