I’m somewhat traumatized—This is the type of book you really have to take the time to digest. Especially if you relate to the characters. Pecola’s story wounds me so much because I can see parts of myself in her struggle. Morrison’s prose is something out of this world. she discusses desirability, sexual experiences, gender and the black American experience with such depth & poeticism. What a writer she is.
