Rf kuang really sucks you in. I’m feeling very disconcerted by the Stockholm syndrome that these students have with their advisor and with the belief that suffering is inextricable to achievement.

this book is so good and biting. I’m noticing a pattern of Alice and Peter, as strategic and all knowing as they appear to be, doing the best possible thing at the moment only to later figure out that there was a much more obvious and easy solution. And I feel very haunted by this frustration from hindsight! But I also respect this plot choice bc research and doing unmapped work just be like that. lol
