Well… I was promised in the reviews of this book that it is something similar to Madeline Miller’s novel “Circe”, and frankly, this is not it. I’ll keep reading, but it’s missing the poetic beauty and nuance I loved in Circe. To be fair to the author, this is her debut novel and I didn’t like Miller’s debut novel Achilles at all, so maybe I’ll like her later writings. But for now, I read on…
