Did you know that in the 1950s U.S. military doctors coined the term “Puerto Rican Syndrome” to describe the panic attacks Puerto Rican soldiers were experiencing during the Vietnam War and it made it into the DSM-5? The term is still synonymous to “ataque de nervios” which is supposed to be a cultural concept of distress..?

I went on a rabbit hole about research about this. Wtf.
