I kind of don't see this idea as being beneficial I hate to say it... I think some workplaces and industries can benefit from this but not all.
Plus it just seems to make a new division of labor between "surplus" and "enabler" laborers. Plus the idea of how this benefits laid off employees seems like it doesn't take into account WHY layoffs happen

An interesting thought I had when he mentioned how Roosevelt kinda offered something new when he was in power by speaking to both sides is that anyone who supported him then was kind of a "radical" and it would be hypocritical for them to condemn young people today for choosing something new as well
