Stephane, Jules’ dad, is literally wearing down from the grief he is carrying. Life is not going as he planned. It is carrying a heavy load on him. Just on the writing alone, you could just feel how estranged they are even when they are living together. Strangers under the same roof. I think Eric, Jules’ uncle, killed himself. Poor Stephane :(
