The way that Finlay’s interrupted and the way that Mo (a firearms expert) is scared of Zach sneaking into the Walmart restroom. Lol. The reveal of the weapon. Dr. Sharif (Mo); sees the bullet with no fear. The way Steven is adamant if how he clings to the past. He reprimands Finlay for not doing background on Vero due to her warrant in Maryland. He is judgmental of Finlay too. He likes to surprise her- annoying!!

The underlying issue of how Julian is like condescending because Finlay says she moved on. What is the core flaw Finlay has that causes this reaction? Is Finlay has bad taste in men? Or is it too much to play with people’s emotions? Is Finlay way over her head? Finlay Finlay found someone who cared for her and her life and her family and her interests. Nick takes it slow and really listens and puts effort into all!

Finlay realizes she hadn’t explained ahead of time moved on.The realizations of how Finlay needs to move on & cut ties not realizing she hadn’t explained ahead to.There are two motives Parker could have had.To publicly wrangle her out of Julian’s crosshairs and to humiliate her or even idk identify her precarious nature. This percentage holds a lot of deep insight into the mechanics of everyone’s relationship

I truly see the people who are on a borderline bipolar in their behavior but not only that have deep grudges. Like Steven. Finlay- cannot appease him and he will abuse the system by stating- we are talking about it as a family. Yeah, right! It’s truly an examination in an area of family dynamics that are truly discomforting. This book’s emotional damage and stakes raise it like an action scenes with guns ablazing

The references in this book really solidify this franchise. Every book brings Finlay’s world in more clarity. She has more control yet never gets a truly satisfying ending. Like Steven is giving hot/cold vibes. Dr. Sharif (Mo) encounters the ball of energy aka Zach (the baby boy of Finlay). Delia is so wholesome! Also, Steven’s snakiness or bite is wholly horrifying. He’s giving entitlement. Finlay is honest!

This book leans into the steamier parts by mention or leans into adult topics as usual. I really find that the author does some crazy odd situations. The scene where Nick says- I am right here. Plus, the crazy build up. Like I seriously, the scene, Finlay was writing was influencing via foreshadowing. There is a foreshadow for Javi and Vero (sixth book). Awkward Ty with Vero. Vero is unhinged/crazy sometimes.

Finlay has small fires to put out metaphorically. As must as she thought she could escape the inadequate parts of her life that could get ruined by evidence and other things resurface. Finlay confesses to Nick. Nick absolutely truly loves her. The pacing is deliberately stretching out the academy days. The plot twists are uniquely bizarre. Vero's past with Javi. Vero's always jumping the gun bc she sees two steps +!

Pacing great. Story heavy yes. There’s a lot of nuance with Finlay’s confidence but we get a highlight on Nick’s trouble with how he lacks information as he can’t finish his job. Finlay is getting to cover her tracks while trying to outpace Nick. Charlie wants to highlight Joey’s suspicious attitude and Finlay needs to realize Charlie could be the main villain as he could be misleading-underdeveloped trope

It’s an action heavy book right now. There are stakes. There’s a lack of information. The way that Vero and Finlay are talented enough at the police academy activities for the general public is interesting. There’s a fine line that the public currently have access to. There’s evidence of all sorts but is inconclusive. The book is really a big cast of characters wise.

Finlay’s story is fun and the pacing is great. I truly enjoy the way that Vero and Finlay think in sequential ways and try to use the resources. It’s really interesting that whenever Finlay needs information she happens to be there inconspicuously. The thematics are trust your close friends. The plot is getting yikes as there’s a mysterious enemies. It’s adult heavy with concepts so I find it embraces that.
