Already somewhat uncomfortable with the way this novel talks about the Iraq War and American soldiers. Feels very "oopsie," though it does reference the fact that we were invaders, albeit in the same breath as Dickinson calls Abu Ghraib a "mistake" which I find almost offensively soft. Nothing about Iraq was a "mistake" it was deliberate neocolonialism perpetuated by idiots not just in command but on the ground.
