I am trying *so hard* to adjust my expectations, but I fear I am a snobby medievalist at heart

Aaaaand now the protagonist is holding the idiot-ball.
I know this is Legally Blonde plot and an opportunity to have character growth but *really* - even with a time constraint the character should know why it's a dumb choice

Chanting 'its Irish Inspired Medieval-esque Fantasy to myself as the Prince discusses the need to "gather intel"

Props to Jacobs for flagging her use of Irish and the mythological/historical/geographical inspiration (unlike some authors 👀), but the Irish Name, Irish Name, Irish Name, thin veneer of 'medieval' fantasy setting, Modern American everything else is starting to grate.
Less heels more torcs pls
