A reviewer says this is “an extravagant feast of a book” and I agree… it’s huge and mostly full of crap you don’t want to eat, but do bc you’re polite. you fill up on the boring stuff, then you don’t have room for dessert.

I.e. I get so tired slogging through the slow bits that once I get to an exciting point, I’m sick of reading it. I’m only halfway through and it’s gonna be a slog to finish.
