Unlike other holy books, the Bible does not record the story of human beings in search of God, but of God in search of human beings.

"...the transformation of Saul of Tarsus, the ruthless persecutor of the Church, into Paul, the most fearless apostle among them all."
^Dad's notes: Typical misconception. It was customary to have a Hebrew name and a Greek name for Diaspora Jews. The apostle didn't "convert" from Saul to Paul!

"It is interesting that in the West reincarnation is becoming a "popular concept" to toy with as hedonistic, wealthy people hope that they may be even more wealthy and happy in the next existence. But in the East where the doctrine originates, karma is a very heavy load and nobody looks on it with pleasure or hope."

"No Jew would readily tolerate the suggestion that God had come in person to this world. They were as passionately monotheistic as any Muslim. But all the first Christians were Jews: they had to overcome massive prejudice and skepticism if they were to recognize Jesus as the unique being who brought God into our midst."

"Although moderate Islamic countries may be peace-loving, Islam has often been, and in many parts of the world remains, a religion of force. That is very evident in countries like Nigeria and Indonesia. The Islamic attack on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center is a current demonstration of the fact."

Moreover it is frequently boring, moralistic and authoritarian. This book is not intended to argue that Christianity is better than other faiths. Christians are - and have been - as fallible as anyone else. No. It is JESUS who is so special!

"What Makes Jesus So Special, Then?"
Notice that I do not ask, "What makes Christianity so special?" In many ways it is not special at all. It shares the frailties and failures of other religions. It's history is marred by war and torture, lies and greed. As an institution it shows the characteristics of many secular organizations.

"None has arrived at God, both because He is too great for any of His creatures to pierce His Incognito, and also because His creatures are too twisted, too self-centered to want to get near Him. The greatness of God and the sinfulness of human beings are the two massive reasons why all religions do not lead to God."
