I am loving this book, but boy does Kamilah's family need a reality check, I want to slap them all. What a toxic family. I don't care how "close knit" a family is, they keep discussing her as if she is not an adult, and talk about her needing to marry, have kids, and when and how she has to do things, all the while they dismiss her EVERY. FUCKING. TIME. when she tries to do something... and they put her down just as much.
