What is one to do when you’re halfway through a book and realize “wow i’m gonna have to reread this” because it’s not hitting like it should?

Keep going and ruin the plot for it to potentially not hit? or take a break and try again later and not read this book you’ve put so much time into?

I love Michael so much and I think he deserves the world and at the same time I wanna smack the shit out of him
