Paz and Alano have finally met, but under horrible circumstances. Paz tried to kill himself when he was stopped by Alano. "Alano has gone from telling me not to jump to my death,". This situation was ironic because Paz hates Alano's dad for not calling him for his End Day, making him hate also Alano because of their relation, but all Alano is doing is saving Paz. I predict that later Paz will save Alano is some way.

The books follows, Alano, the heir to the Death-Cast Company, and Paz, a suicidal man who wants Death-Cast to call him. Paz waits up every night for the call that he is going to die, "Death-Cast better call to tell me I'm going to die today". I predict that Paz will call up Alano to beg him to give him his End Day call, meaning he will die that day.
